AT&T and T-Mobile announce Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy Gear price, availability

Samsung wasn’t entirely clear on U.S. availability details when it announced the Galaxy Note 3 and the Galaxy Gear on Wednesday, saying the devices would start shipping September 25, then become available worldwide in October. While the phone and smartwatch will be available from all four major U.S. carriers, AT&T and T-Mobile are now the first to come through with pricing and availability details.

AT&T is taking preorders for the Galaxy Note 3 today, and the phone will start shipping October 1. It costs $ 299.99 with a two-year contract, $ 35 per month on AT&T Next, or $ 724.99 if you want to buy the phone outright. It looks like AT&T is only offering the 32GB version, not the 64GB model also announced on Wednesday. Right now, the only information available about the Galaxy Gear is that it will be available “in the coming weeks.”

T-Mobile, meanwhile, will be offering both the Galaxy Gear and the Galaxy Note 3 on October 2. You can sign up here to find out when preorders are starting. Since T-Mobile doesn’t subsidize the cost of phones, the Note 3 will cost $ 199.99 down, along with 24 monthly payments of $ 21, for an overall price of $ 703.99. The Galaxy Gear will cost $ 299.99.

There’s still no word on a release date or pricing for the devices on Sprint or Verizon, though Verizon will begin taking pre-orders for the phone later today.
