Fab takes its design inspirations mobile

Fab.com, the design flash sales site, is on a roll with 750,000 members since launching four months ago. And now its fulfilling its members’ No. 1 request with mobile apps for iPhone , iPad and Android devices.

The site, which wasn’t mobile web optimized, already had 18 percent of its visits from mobile devices with the iPhone (9 percent) and the iPad (6 percent) leading the way. Now users will get an experience tailored to their mobile devices, which should be especially helpful for smartphone users who will get an interface optimized for a smaller screen. Users will also get notifications on new sales and expiring items in their cart, along with the ability to purchase items quickly.

Fab is doing more than $ 100,000 in sales a day and is adding 5,000-10,000 new members daily. Interestingly, CEO Jason Goldberg told me more than 70 percent of its visits come from Apple products: Macs, iPhones, iPads and iPod touches.
