Meet the 8 GigaOM Mobilize Product Showcase finalists

It’s year six of the Mobilize conference and this year, as we’ve already told you, we’re shaking things up with a new focus on ubiquitous computing in addition to your familiar mobile devices. When everything can be connected, it’s worth exploring how the infrastructure must change, what we will do with all that data and which devices will be the first to gain connectivity.

As part of that shakeup we’ve taken our annual LaunchPad competition and turned it into a product showcase. We’re featuring some cool new products that have the capability to change how we live, reduce the cost of doing business and help us find our stuff. Check out our eight finalists below and then come see them demo their products at the show in San Francisco on Oct. 16 and 17.

Ayla Networks: Ayla is first and foremost a cloud provider, but it does offer customers a module that allows them to get their devices online quickly and connected to the Ayla cloud.

Azumio: Azumio makes the Argus Instant Heart Rate and Instant Fitness apps that turn your iPhone or Samsung Galaxy Gear smart watch into a fitness tracker. It may be the software that eats the fitness tracker market.

Linquet: Linquet is part of a plethora of tracking products that use Bluetooth LE to help you find devices. The twist with Linquet is that it not only can track your object, but it will let you know if something is moving out of range.

Lively: This startup is using sensors and smart algorithms to track senior citizens’ health and habits without intrusive cameras or motion trackers.

Phone Halo:The second of our two tracking products, the TrackR attaches to devices to let you find them from your iPhone or Android.

Rachio: Take your existing or new sprinkler system into the 21st century with the Iro controller by Rachio. The Iro is like the Nest for home irrigation, learning what your yard needs based on the weather and your habits.

Revolv: This home hub connects a variety of different connected devices from Sonos to Hue lightbulbs and lets you program them to interact with each other.

SigSense Technologies: SigSense brings field-service instruments to the connected world by integrating pluggable instruments, mobile devices and cloud services.
