T-Mobile customers with a Moto X smartphone have a new software update waiting for their phone that should greatly improve the phone’s camera performance. That’s great news as the camera’s inconsistency was one of the few flaws I noted in my review of the phone.
According to Droid Life, here are the details of the camera improvements:
- Enhanced auto-white balance performance and color accuracy
- Improved exposure in outdoor and backlit scenes
- Reduced noise in low light scenes
So does the software actually deliver on the camera’s capability? Yes, say both Droid Life and AnandTech, which have already installed and tested the update. Here’s one of many samples from Droid Life:
Since the update comes from Motorola but through the carriers, Moto X owners on Verizon, AT&T, Sprint and US Cellular will have to wait for their operator to test and push the upgrade out.
