Sun app shows off potential of mobile web apps

Jakob Henner, a Copanhagen-based designer-developer has developed a very simple and elegant weather app, called, Sun. What makes it special? Well, it is not a native iOS app, but instead is a mobile web app. You can hardly tell the difference, though I found it working better on my iPad 3 that on my iPhone.  It uses the location feature of Safari to show off weather from up to four cities. You can swipe and pinch and customize the app by using between Celsius and Fahrenheit, picking your cities and themes. It is a great showcase of the potential of web-based mobile apps. Try it out at pattern.dk/sun and follow Henner on Twitter and Dribble.
