Where to watch the 94th PGA Championship live online

Can’t get excited about the London Olympics anymore? Then how about watching out some golf instead? The 94th PGA Championship is about to begin at the Ocean Course in Kiawah Island, South Carolina this Thursday, August 9th. It’s traditionally the last of the four major golf championships, and will offer yet another chance to see stars like Keegan Bradley and Tiger Woods compete.

Of course, much of the action will be happening while many of us are either in the office, or out and about – but have no fear: As in previous years, you’ll be able to follow the action live online and on the iPad as well as iPhone and iPod touch.

Here’s all you need to know about the PGA Championship live stream:

Watch it online: The PGA Championship live video player will offer multiple live streams of the tournament. Select marquee group coverage will be available Thursday and Friday from 8:30am to 7pm ET (5:30am to 4pm PT), as well as Saturday and Sunday from 11am to 7pm ET. Coverage of par 3 holes will be available Thursday and Friday from 1pm to 7pm ET as well Saturday and Sunday from 11am to 7pm ET.

The PGA will also live stream press conferences Thursday and Friday from 2pm to 7pm ET. And all the multitaskers out there will be able to use the PGA’s new Social Caddy site, which promises to loop in interesting stuff from Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.

Watch it on the go: iPhone and iPod touch users can watch the live stream with a dedicated iOS app, which is available through Apple’s App Store. The app also runs on iPads, but isn’t optimized for the tablet. However, the PGA Championship website and its video player are, so you’ll be able to watch the event in your iPad’s web browser.
