How to port Android apps to Windows Phone 7

Following the help for iPhone developers to port their apps to Windows Phone, Microsoft now also helps out Android developers to port their apps.

They’ve just released the following package containing:

  • Android to Windows Phone API mapping tool
  • “Windows Phone 7 Guide for Android Application Developers” white paper,
90+ pages organized in 7 chapters

Again, just as with the iPhone one, this API mapping tool won’t magically convert your apps, it’s a dictionary to help you find what you need.

Give it a try!

If you need more help the team has hired the “App Guy” who crawls developer forums aggregating discussions from different locations to answer questions related to porting iOS and Android applications to Windows Phone.

For those wondering: No, Mango features are not included yet! You can expect to see those included into the API Mapping tool later this summer.
