The Boy Genius Report, a respected blog on all things mobile, is reporting today that the Nokia Lumia 920 will go on sale in the US at AT&T on October 21st, along with the Samsung Galaxy Note II.
The Lumia 920 was unveiled in New York on September 5th, but with no pricing or availability information. A post on the Nokia For Us blog dated September 5 revealed a tip to them with a November 2nd launch date for the Lumia 820 and 920 on AT&T. That story was picked up by TechRadar, and The Verge also separately reported on a November 2 launch rumor.
While this new, earlier date for a Lumia launch would be welcome news, it doesn’t jibe with a number of rumors about either a Lumia or Windows Phone 8 launch. We reported earlier on an All About Microsoft post that set a Windows Phone 8 launch date on October 29th, which would fall right in to the November 2 AT&T launch scenario, but would place that event after an October 21st AT&T launch.
Still, the sooner these phones get on the shelves and compete against the iPhone 5 (which has already sold out of pre-orders), the better.
