Rumor: Is Nokia planning a 4.7” low-end device codenamed Nokia “Max”?

NokiaWhilst we’re all guessing what Nokia will announce during their Lumia press event to be held May 14 in London, a hot new rumor has surfaced saying that Nokia is currently planning a device with a large 4.7” screen, making it the biggest Nokia Lumia device yet.

According to MyNokiaBlog.com, Nokia had been planning such a device with the codename Nokia “Max”, and provided some specifications for the said device:

  • 4.7″ WVGA LCD display with Super Sensitive Touch
  • Unibody design
  • 1.2Ghz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor
  • 512MB RAM
  • 2000mAh battery
  • LTE

What’s interesting is that despite having the largest screen out of the existing Lumia devices, this device is said to be a low-end device – touted to be the “cheapest LTE capable device in the Lumia range”. In fact, Chinese website WPBar separately reported that  this 4.7” device will likely be named the Nokia Lumia 625, which places it in the same category as the low-end Lumia 620.

We’re not really expecting Nokia to announce this device during the May 14th press event, but WPBar suggests that we may expect the device to be announced sometime in June. Of course, neither sources have been confirmed, as such take this news with a huge pinch of salt.

If such a device do eventuate, would you consider buying this? Let us know in the comments below!
