Good news, college students: ESPN now lets you stream for free to the iPad

ESPN is opening up streaming of its WatchESPN iOS app to college students and military personnel that use an on-campus or on-base Wifi network. The cable network, which previously only served up live streams on iOS to pay TV customers,  is slated to announce the change as part of the relaunch of its iPad app Thursday. The new app comes with a revamped UI and a number of new features, including the ability to watch a live stream and an archived video at the same time – because, what else is there to do in a dorm room, right?
