Report: Square COO Keith Rabois resigned due to sexual harassment allegations

Keith Rabois, the COO of mobile payments startup Square, resigned Thursday for reasons that were unclear. Now the Wall Street Journal is reporting that Rabois resigned “amid accusations from a Square employee of sexual harassment.”

According to the WSJ:

A New York attorney, Steven Berger, who represents a Square employee, reached out to the San Francisco-based company two weeks ago, alleging that Mr. Rabois had sexually harassed the employee and that Square failed to take appropriate action, said the company.

Rabois denied the allegations to the paper, saying, “I’m completely confident that all the facts will come out and I will be vindicated.” He told the WSJ he resigned so as to avoid distractions for the company.
