This June, FoundersCard, a members-only community for entrepreneurs and innovators, announced their 150th member benefit. It has been less than two years since Eric Kuhn came up with the idea for FoundersCard, and its growth, even in challenging economic times, has been remarkable.
Prior to FoundersCard, Kuhn had enjoyed considerable start-up success as founder and CEO of Varsity Books, the first online marketplace for college textbooks. Following that triumph, Kuhn started thinking about his next business and gravitated toward the idea of providing benefits to entrepreneurs. He was always struck by the fact that entrepreneurs, who are taking all the risks and doing the legwork involved in building the economy, didn’t get rewarded with the same benefits and discounts offered to executives at the largest corporations and so he launched FoundersCard to level the playing field.
FoundersCard offers members exclusive travel, lifestyle, and business benefits from the world’s hottest brands. Among the companies offering benefits are American Airlines, W Hotels, Equinox Fitness, Virgin Atlantic Airways and John Varvatos. Members are also encouraged to create offerings from their own companies exclusively for other members. Benefits created by members include Wine Library, Threadless, and MOO.
FoundersCard also hosts members-only networking events on a regular basis. These events are attended by hundreds of members who relish the opportunity to meet with and learn from other innovators.
