Office 2013 Web apps now available (in final form) on SkyDrive

Ofc_Orng166_rgbIn what appears to be a flurry of activity in preparation for what promises to be a whirlwind two weeks of news with the launch of Windows 8, Microsoft Surface, Windows Phone 8, and culminating with Build, the Office Division has flipped the switch on Office 2013 Web Apps.

We’ve seen a Windows Essentials update get pushed out to users, more updates to Windows 8 “built-in” apps, an update to the Mouse and Keyboard 2.0 set of drivers for Windows 8, and more just in the past couple of days, and now, according to a tweet from SkyDrive Program Manager Omar Shahine, Office Web Apps is “alive”

The Office 2013 Web Apps are now alive on #SkyDrive :-). Enjoy! Kudos to my friends in the Microsoft Office Division!

You can check out Office Web Apps by going to SkyDrive, and (in the Outlook.com version) clicking on “Create”.  Office Web Apps have been available in preview form since late July, when we gave you a detailed look at the apps. No word as of yet from the Office Web Apps blog  or on the Office Next blog, where the new Web Apps were first announced, on changes from the preview.  Let us know if you notice anything new!
