AMD Brings Back Ryzen 5800X3D for AM4 and Adds 7700X3D for AM5
*AMD expands its processor lineups with a refreshed Ryzen 5800X3D aimed at older AM4 systems and a new Ryzen 7700X3D for current AM5 platforms.*
AMD announced the additions at Computex 2026. The Ryzen 5800X3D carries quotation marks around the word "new" in the company's materials, while the Ryzen 7700X3D enters the AM5 lineup without that qualifier.
The moves keep the 3D V-Cache variants available across two socket generations. AM4 users gain another official option years after the platform's mainstream support ended. AM5 users receive one more high-cache choice that fits existing motherboards and memory.
No further technical specifications, pricing, or availability dates appear in the announcement.
Why it matters
Owners of older AM4 builds now have a documented path to a 3D V-Cache chip without switching platforms. AM5 adopters gain an additional model that may slot between existing X3D SKUs. The limited disclosure leaves open whether the 5800X3D is a simple re-release or carries any internal changes.
