AMD Pushes ML-Based FSR 4 Into More Than 300 Games and Opens a Professional Track

AMD announced that its machine-learning version of FidelityFX Super Resolution has expanded to more than 300 games. At the same time the company introduced Radeon AI FSR PRO, a variant aimed at professional use.

The update shows how quickly AMD has moved FSR 4 from an experimental feature to a widely supported option inside game engines. Earlier iterations of FSR relied on hand-tuned spatial algorithms; the current release applies trained models to recover detail during upscaling. Developers integrate the new path through updated SDKs that AMD has shipped over recent months.

Radeon AI FSR PRO extends the same core model to content-creation and visualization tools. The professional release keeps the machine-learning pipeline but targets higher bit-depth buffers and consistent frame timing required in DCC applications and real-time rendering pipelines. No separate hardware requirement was listed beyond current Radeon GPUs that already support the consumer FSR 4 path.

Adoption numbers

The figure of more than 300 titles reflects titles that have either shipped or are in active development with the ML model enabled. AMD did not break out how many of those titles have reached retail or how many remain in closed beta.

Why it matters

Game developers now have a second mature upscaling option that does not require dedicated tensor cores, while workstation users gain an officially supported route to apply the same model in non-gaming software. The split between consumer and professional SKUs suggests AMD intends to maintain two update tracks rather than forcing every studio to adopt a single implementation.
