Apple Ships iOS 27 Beta 2 With Easier Siri Writing Access

Apple released the second beta of iOS 27 today. The update brings several refinements ahead of a planned July public beta and September launch.

New Write with Siri Button

A Write with Siri button now sits above the keyboard in Notes, Mail, Messages, and other apps. It provides direct access to the feature that lets users generate text through Siri. In the first beta the same tool appeared only after text selection.

Siri Voice Updates

The Siri voice customization options on iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone Air now list Pace and Expressivity as “Coming Soon.” Those controls were present but non-functional in the initial beta.

Wallet App Changes

The Wallet app gains a new Insights feature. Details on its function remain limited in the current release notes.

Why it matters

The changes focus on small interface tweaks rather than large new capabilities. Developers and early testers will see whether the button placement speeds up Siri-assisted writing and whether the labeled voice options arrive in later betas. No other major feature additions appear in this build.
