AWS CEO Says Capex Will Continue as Demand Outruns Supply
*Matt Garman states that Amazon Web Services is still adding capacity because customer requests exceed what the company can currently deliver.*
AWS Chief Executive Matt Garman said the company intends to keep spending on capital projects. He made the comment during an appearance on Bloomberg Tech.
“Today, demand still significantly outstrips supply and we’re trying to build and invest to keep up with what customers are asking for,” Garman said.
The statement offers no new figures on quarterly spending or specific regions. It simply confirms that the gap between orders and available infrastructure remains wide enough to justify further outlays.
No timeline was attached to the investment plans, and Garman did not discuss margins or returns on the added capacity.
