DuckDuckGo Ships No-AI Search Extensions for Chrome and Firefox

DuckDuckGo now distributes dedicated web extensions for Chrome and Firefox that load its standard, non-AI search page by default. The company states the change responds to rising traffic and explicit user requests for an option that avoids generative-AI overlays.
The extensions appear on the Chrome Web Store and Firefox Add-ons site. Installation places a simple search icon in the browser toolbar; clicking it opens DuckDuckGo results without the AI chat pane or summarized boxes that the engine added in prior updates.
Prior to the extensions, users reached the no-AI experience only by visiting the site directly or by manually disabling AI toggles on each search. The new packages remove those steps and keep the same privacy defaults DuckDuckGo already advertises.
