Meta Ships First In-House Smart Glasses at $299
*Meta releases its own-branded Adventurer, Fury, and Starfire models at lower prices than prior Ray-Ban collaborations, with EssilorLuxottica still handling production.*
Meta today introduced three new smart glasses sold directly under its brand. The Adventurer and Fury start at $299 while the Kylie Jenner-designed Starfire costs $399. The move places Meta's name on the frames for the first time and undercuts the $379 price of last year's Ray-Ban Meta Wayfarer.
EssilorLuxottica manufactures the new models even though Meta designed them internally. The partner's logo remains on the temple arms and packaging next to Meta's. Three frame styles are offered with multiple color options.
Pricing and positioning
The $299 price point is $80 below the previous generation Ray-Ban Meta Wayfarer. Meta presents the lower cost as a way to broaden adoption ahead of any Apple product in the same category.
Manufacturing details
Production stays with EssilorLuxottica, the owner of Ray-Ban and Oakley. The arrangement keeps the established supply chain while shifting branding to Meta.
Why it matters
Meta is testing whether its own label can expand the market faster than licensed partnerships alone. The price cut and direct branding signal that the company now treats smart glasses as a core hardware line rather than an accessory experiment. For users the change is mostly cosmetic so far: the same manufacturer, similar designs, and lower sticker price.
